Weather department warning of cold wave in four states including Mavthani in Gujarat and Rajasthan


IMD Weather Forecast : Now severe cold has started in most of the states, the Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) has predicted a cold wave in 4 states including Mawtha in Gujarat and Rajasthan. Besides, other states have also been warned of unbearable cold. The department has predicted severe cold in Punjab, Haryana, Delhi and Rajasthan today, while a cold wave has been forecast for three days from January 7 to 9.

Fog conditions in 14 states

Besides, fog conditions are being observed in 14 other states, including Uttar Pradesh, Punjab, Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh, Haryana, Himachal Pradesh, Uttarakhand, Bihar, Jharkhand and Odisha and in the north-east, fog warning has been issued in Assam, Meghalaya, Mizoram and Tripura. While the possibility of rain has been expressed in Kerala, Tamil Nadu and Andhra Pradesh today.

22 trains affected in Delhi, school holiday extended

As many as 22 trains were delayed from 1 hour to 6 hours in the capital Delhi today due to fog, with trains coming from Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh and Bihar mostly affected. In view of the unbearable cold, the holidays in classes 1 to 5 in Delhi have been extended till January 12.

Average rainfall in 8 states

According to the IMD forecast, a new Western Disturbance is seen forming over North-East India from January 8, due to which Jammu and Kashmir, Himachal Pradesh, Uttarakhand, Punjab, Haryana, Chandigarh, Delhi and Uttar Pradesh may receive normal rainfall on January 8 and 9. As for central India, light rain with thundershowers is likely over Gujarat, Madhya Pradesh, Rajasthan and northern parts of Maharashtra. While a rain warning has been issued in Tamil Nadu, Kerala and Andhra Pradesh of South India on Monday.

Uttar Pradesh: Heavy rain and hail likely on Monday

Dense fog warning has been issued in some districts of Uttar Pradesh. Heavy rain and hail are predicted for 4 days from Monday to Thursday. Sultanpur in the state received more rain on Saturday, while Muzaffarnagar is experiencing bitter cold.
