After India bought Rafale fighter jets from France and the S-400 air defense system from Russia, the ragtag Pakistan has again reached the shelter of China.
To counter India's Rafale, Pakistan has announced the purchase of J-31 stealth fighter jets from China. China calls this aircraft a fifth generation aircraft and sources say that China has made the J-31 by copying the American F-35 fighter jet and F-22 fighter jet.
Pakistan Army Chief Asim Munir saw the flight of China's J-10 aircraft in a parade of Pakistan Air Force and announced to buy more fighter jets from China. He said that J-31 fighter jets will be purchased from China to modernize the Pakistan Air Force.
China, on the other hand, claims that the J-31 aircraft is equipped with stealth technology and cannot be detected by radars. It is capable of bombarding long range targets. It can fly up to 1250 kilometers at a time. Because of this, now Pakistan has a hope that, in the event of a clash with the Indian Air Force, the J-31 aircraft will be able to defeat the Indian S-400 air defense system and will be able to wreak havoc by entering the Indian border.
Pakistan plans to phase out American-made F-16s and replace them with J-31s. However, the Pakistan Army Chief did not announce when these planes will be inducted into the Pakistan Air Force.
On the other hand, Pakistan's announcement could be a matter of concern for India. Because India's fifth generation fighter jet project is still in its infancy. India currently has the Rafale aircraft in its air force as the most advanced jet fighter.
