Mahua Moitra has vacated the bungalow, not been evicted: lawyer's clarification

- Moitra was expelled from the Lok Sabha last year for the cash-for-query scandal: hence the allotted bungalow had to be vacated.

New Delhi: The Trinamul Congress had expelled him and former MP Mahua Moitra from the Lok Sabha last year in the cash-for-query scandal. As a result, they had to vacate the bungalow allotted to them. There were also reports that officials of the Directorate of Estates, the body that looks after government bungalows, had been systematically evicted from the bungalows. But his lawyer Shadan Farsan said that Moitraji had vacated the bungalow by 10 am before the officers of that unit arrived today (Friday) morning.

Moitraji had completely vacated bungalow number 9/B in New Delhi, which is located in Telegraph Lane of the capital, by 10 am today on Friday and the key was handed over to the officials of the Directorate of Estates by his lawyers. It has also been known.

After this, the officials of the said unit of the central government opened the bungalow and thoroughly investigated whether there were any belongings of Mahua Moitra.

It may be mentioned that Moitra applied for relief in the Delhi High Court against the order to vacate the bungalow but the High Court did not accept it. Hence the bungalow had to be vacated as a Trinamul Congress MP.
