Supreme Court stays High Court order on Ambani family security

- Case of challenging security in Tripura High Court

- The High Court ordered the Center to be present with documents of security reasons

New Delhi: The security provided by the Center to the Ambani family was challenged by a PIL in the Tripura High Court. So the central government appealed to the Supreme in defense of security. The Supreme Court has stayed the order of the Tripura High Court.

Earlier in the day, the Center had argued in the Supreme Court that the security was provided by the Center on the recommendations of the Maharashtra government, so the High Court could not hear the case as it did not belong to the Tripura government or the High Court.

The PIL was filed in the Tripura High Court, following which the Tripura High Court sought a reply from the Central Government along with the documents. As a result the central government went to the Supreme.

Solicitor General Tushar Mehta, appearing for the Center, said that the Supreme Court should stay the PIL so that it does not hold further hearings.

So that the Supreme Court said that we have given stay so now the Central Government does not need to appeal to the Supreme Court, we are ready to hear even if any such need arises.
