India's urban population will reach 25 million by 202: UN report



The United Nations Urban Population Report was released. According to the report, India's urban population will increase significantly by 202. By 205, India's population of 25 million will be living in cities. Out of the total population of Asia, 400 million people live in cities. Most of the 100 million people will live in Chinese cities.
The United Nations Urban Population Report 203 states that the world's urbanization continues unabated, even after the Corona period. The theory was that urbanization would decline after the Corona period. However, the trend of urbanization will remain the same. According to the report, more than 100 crore people out of China's population will be living in cities by 205. With an urban population of 4.5 crore, India will be second on the list. In 2020, more than 50 million people in India lived in cities. In 207, that number will increase to 4 crore. Then in the next 10 years, it will rise sharply and by 202, 25 million people in India will be living in cities.
By 205, Asia will have the largest population of 400 million people living in cities. Of these, 100 million live in cities in South Asia alone. According to the report, just as urbanization became an important factor in the 19th and 20th centuries, so too will urbanization be a major factor in the 21st century. Urbanization will continue to increase in the 21st century. In addition, there will be a significant increase in the birth rate of urban population. Due to both, the population of cities will increase. By 2020, 400 million people will be added to the world's urban population. By 2020, the global population will reach 8% of the urban population. Currently, 4% of the world's population lives in cities. By 2020, barely 5% of the population will be living in villages. Currently, 4% of the world's population lives in villages.
