Rahul's government criticized by US general

- Jan. Charles told Feen that China has developed LAC infrastructure on its side: it is eye-opening

New Delhi: Rahul Gandhi has lashed out at the government over the infrastructures being developed by China on the Indian side of the border and on the pro-LAC side. The day before, the government had assured that it had taken all necessary steps to safeguard the country's territorial integrity. In this regard, Rahul Gandhi tweeted on Friday that "the government is betraying the country by ignoring the fact that China is laying the groundwork for aggressive measures in the future."

In his tweet, he told US General Charles A. Fine on Wednesday about the Line of Actual Control (LAC) that his (China's) level of action was eye-opening. The infrastructures being created by the PLA's Western Theater Command are becoming frightening. Then one should ask why? What is the reason behind it?

The US general is on a four-day visit to India. He is in talks with Chief of Army Staff General Manoj Pandey. LAC is the de facto line of control between India and China.

This criticism of General Finn has provoked strong reactions from the opposition.

Responding to the opposition's criticism, External Affairs Ministry spokesperson Arvindam Bagchi on Thursday said that the Indian government has taken a number of steps in this regard in recent years and we have also started building infrastructures along the border. And our territorial integrity and sovereignty are being fully protected.
