ONGC helicopter crashes at sea, killing four

Four people, including three ONGC employees, were killed when a Pawan Hans helicopter crashed 50 nautical miles off the coast of Mumbai. The incident happened when the helicopter was going with two pilots and seven other passengers.

Near the Gulf of Mumbai is the Bombay High, which accounts for 7% of the country's crude oil production. ONGC employees are flown here from Mumbai by helicopter.

The helicopter was floating on the sea surface for some time when the accident happened and rescue operation was carried out and all the passengers were pulled out. While the rescue operation was underway, four of them were unconscious and were airlifted to a hospital by a Navy helicopter, where they were pronounced dead.
