Indian national arrested for cheating with senior citizen in US



Aniruddha Kalkote, an Indian national, was arrested in the US for cheating with a senior citizen. 6-year-old Aniruddha has been accused of cheating with 15 senior citizens through e-mail. Earlier, three Indian nationals were arrested in connection with the scam.
Aniruddha Kalkote, a 9-year-old Indian national living in Virginia, has been charged with cheating 15 senior citizens. Aniruddha has been arrested by the police on this serious charge. E-mails were sent to senior citizens in various ways. The scam was rife across the country and in addition to Aniruddha Kalkote, three accused have already been arrested on the charge.
Earlier, three accused, Sumit Kumar Singh, Himanshu Kumar and Haseeb, were arrested. The three accused are also Indian nationals and lived in Houston. Senior US citizens were mailed out of fear of various laws, and huge sums of money were levied on them for various provisions. Allegedly, many senior seniors were deceived more than once. Sixteen senior citizens had lodged a complaint against 9-year-old Aniruddha. The complaint said that the accused was demanding money. He also threatened to attack if the money was not forthcoming.
The gang used to collect people's data in the name of computers technical support service and then carry out fraud scams based on it, the police statement said. If convicted, they could face up to 20 years in prison for crimes ranging from sensitive data theft to cybercrime, to fraud.
