Canada is going to be the first country in the world to have a warning printed on every cigarette. Every cigarette in Canada will now have a health warning about how dangerous smoking is.

Notably, 2 decades ago today, Canada had a policy of displaying a graphic picture as a warning on the packaging of tobacco products. The policy initiated by Canada has been adopted worldwide.

Caroline Bennett, Canada's Minister of Mental Health, said the plan was being addressed to address concerns about the impact of warnings on packaging of tobacco products. Writing a health warning on every tobacco product can ensure that the message reaches everyone. This is especially true of young people who smoke only one cigarette at a time and cannot see the warning printed on the packet.

Discussions will begin on Saturday to implement the change. The government hopes that this change will be implemented in the last 6 months of the year 2023. Consideration is being given as to what message will be printed on the cigarette but in the current proposal, the slogan 'Poison in Every Puff' has been considered.

Bennett also outlined extensive warnings for cigarette packets, including a long list of health effects from smoking, including stomach cancer, colorectal cancer, and diabetes.

Canada has imposed a photo warning on its tobacco products. That command has been in force since 2000 but has not been updated for some time.

"This initiative is going to set a global example," said Rob Cunningham, a senior policy analyst at the Canada Cancer Society. He is confident that this warning will make a real difference. This will be a warning that will be difficult to ignore. Every smoker will get this warning with every breath.
