Demolition of Vasukinag temple in Jammu and Kashmir: Mass protests

Jammu: Terrorists have vandalized the Vasuki temple in Bhadarwah village in Doda district of Kashmir. When the priest opened the temple early this morning, he found that the temple had been badly damaged. The windows and doors have also been damaged.

The police presence in the area has been beefed up, the priest informed the police. On the other hand, the villagers also staged huge demonstrations in this regard. And demanded stern action against the perpetrator. Police said photos of the vandalism were also taken.

There is a belief in Hinduism that Vasuki Nag is the king of Nagas. So people have a lot of faith in this temple. The original name of this Bhadarwah village is said to be Bhadra Kashi. In this temple, a statue of Vasuki snake is carved out of black stone. It is said that the Kalsarpa guilt is removed from the visitor to this temple.

According to media reports, a large crowd had gathered at the site early in the morning and started protesting in which tires were burnt on the roads, people chanted slogans and demanded stern action against those who targeted the temple.
