Controversy over comment on Prophet: Former President Ansari said that PM's silence means ...

New Delhi, June 11, 2022, Saturday

Violence erupted across the country on Friday following the catastrophic remarks made by former BJP spokesperson Nupur Sharma on the Prophet Mohammad.

Former PM Hamid Ansari has said in a media interview that PM Modi is silent on the controversy and there is a reason behind it. This is no yoga yoga. Neither the PM nor the External Affairs Minister, the Home Minister, made any statement. They are expected to speak on the issue.

He said the PM's silence meant that he did not disagree with the matter and could only say so in view of his silence. In this case, the External Affairs Minister did not make the statement because he had to seek permission to say anything. The personality of Hazrat Mohammad Payangbar is a sensitive issue for Islam. It is not enough to say that the controversial statement has hurt the feelings of Muslims and the government does not agree with the catastrophic remark. This is not the only statement from the ruling party. Such statements have been made for the last few months.

Ansari said anti-Muslim statements were also made in recent religion parliaments and the government was responsible for this. This did not happen suddenly.
