The government has taken a strict stance on advertising products without any experience, usage or knowledge of celebrities or players. The government, in announcing new rules under the Consumer Protection Act, said in its advertisement it would be held accountable if an advertiser provided false information about the product or endorsed it without experience.

According to the government's new guidelines, celebrities or sports purses must be given a material connection disclosure, and caution must be exercised when endorsing advertising. The Ministry of Consumer Protection announced the new guideline on Friday. According to this guideline, the advertising of advertisers should be based on honest opinion, belief or experience.

Material Connection Disclosure Required

The advertiser must also be informed if they are associated with these products in any way and if this is not done it will be considered a violation of the Consumer Protection Act. Material Disclosure means a relationship that in any way affects the endorsement or the importance of the advertisement and the trust but the customer is not aware of it.

According to this guideline, if there is a connection between the creator of the advertisement of any product and the merchant, the producer and the person working in the advertisement, which in fact affects the value or credibility of the endorsement must be fully disclosed. If the matter is violated, a fine of up to Rs 10 lakh for the first time and Rs 50 lakh for the second time will be imposed in such cases.

The new guideline, 'Precautionary measures against misleading advertisements and publicity of advertisements', came into effect on June 10. These guidelines set out the standards for making any advertisement legal or misleading. It offers free, deceptive and other types of jewelry.
