Each year at the Oscars, the Memorial Section pays tribute to many of the world's most famous film personalities. The names of those who have caused loss to the world's film industry are taken.

This memorial section of the Oscars commemorated many great artists, musicians and singers like Sydney Poitier, Evani Ritman, Betty White, Carmine Salinas, Olivia Dukakis, William Hurt but the great singer and vocalist of India Lata Mangshekar was remembered at the Oscars.

Lata Mangeshkar, who influenced Indian cinema with her singing for 70 years, passed away in Mumbai on February 6 at the age of 94. Lata Mangeshkar's fans are all over the world so she should have got a place in this list.

Similarly, the tragedy king and great actor Dilip Kumar passed away on July 7, 2021 at the age of 98. He was also not remembered by the Oscar Memorial.

Lata Mangeshkar and Dilip Kumar were slammed by fans on social media for not remembering the Oscars. One user wrote that Lata Mangeshkar has sung songs in more films than has been screened at the Oscars so far but she was not mentioned.
