WHO shows 2 new drugs for the treatment of Covid-19 between Omicron, find out how effective

The World Health Organization (WHO) on Friday recommended two new drugs for the treatment of Covid-19, amid an increase in the number of cases of the new variant of Corona Omicron. These 2 new drugs are Barisitinib and Casirivimab-Imdivimab. According to health body experts in the peer review journal BMJ, baricitinib can be used in combination with corticosteroids to treat critically ill patients. This drug is commonly used in the treatment of arthritis.

According to the WHO, this drug reduces the need for a ventilator and can reduce the risk to a patient's life without any side effects. Its effect is similar to that of another arthritis drug, interleukin-6 (IL-6). If you have a choice of both drugs, buy one based on price, availability, and clinician experience. Don't make the mistake of taking both at the same time.

The WHO has also recommended the use of the monoclonal antibody Sotrovimab in this guideline update considering the situation. It can be given to a patient with a less serious infection but with a greater need for hospitalization. The WHO has also made similar recommendations for another monoclonal antibody drug, Cassirivimab-Imdivimab.

However, the WHO statement stated that there was insufficient data available for monoclonal antibody treatment and that the Health Body acknowledged that its effects on new variants such as Omicron were not currently known. The WHO's recommendations are based on evidence found in 7 trials of 4,000 common, less severe and more severe infected patients.
