Islamabad: As many as 80% of the testing kits imported to Pakistan from abroad are sub-standard, so it is not possible to get accurate results, say experts.

Not only that, but there is no formal national policy in the country to deal with the Kovid-12 epidemic, and the personnel testing for diseases such as Corona Delta or Amicron are also under-trained. There is only a lack of trained staff. Saeed Khan, a professor in the Department of Pathology at Doha University's Uza Campus, said that there is a possibility of defects in testing as well.

Prof. showing errors in testing. "If a patient's mucus is sampled and then kept in sunlight or in a warm place, the result will be fundamentally different," Saeed said. However, some large hospitals in the U.S. Uses high-quality kits approved by the Food and Drug Administration (FDA), but in small hospitals or private hospitals, the most unreliable kits are used.

Regarding the fact that Pakistan imports Kovid-18 diagnostic kits from China, Turkey and the US and some European countries, Professor Khan said that in fact, kits which are considered unacceptable by the US (FDA) should not be used. The highest number of cases of Kovid was reported in Pakistan on Friday while a comprehensive national policy should be formulated for Delta and Amicron variants like their Kovid-12 and its fungi.
