Nepal bans Made in China flights due to hunger

The Nepal government-run Nepal Airlines has banned six Chinese planes from flying. These Made-in-China flights cost the airlines huge losses every year. The financial burden of Nepal Airlines will be reduced if the use of these starving planes is stopped.
As per the decision taken at the board meeting of Nepal Airlines, six Chinese flights will now be suspended. Between 2013 and 2014, Nepal purchased six Made in China aircraft. The airlines had to incur constant losses due to the high cost of maintenance of the aircraft. Between 2013 and 2014, Nepal Airlines noticed that the state-owned company was running at a loss due to the high cost of handling Chinese aircraft.
Finally, in 2020, a proposal to stop flying Made in China was tabled in the board. That proposal has now been accepted. Because of this, from the new year, Nepal Airlines will put all six Chinese planes in the parking lot and get relief from the huge losses.
A senior Nepal Airlines official said in an official statement that the frequent technical glitches in the aircraft were a financial burden on the airlines. It requires a highly skilled pilot to operate it. Due to language barrier, Nepalese pilots cannot get proper training to fly Chinese aircraft. The decision has been taken by the board members of the airlines after studying all the issues.
The Nepalese official said that China had agreed to provide proper training to the Nepalese pilots when the agreement was reached to buy the aircraft, but has since ignored repeated offers to provide training. Even the equipment needed for repairs is not available at the right time. Although Nepal has approached China more than once for help, the decision has not been forthcoming.
