When Bhola cyclone struck in 190, proved to be a boon for Pakistan's rulers.

It is 50 years since the 1971 war between India and Pakistan. At that time, it was barely 25 years since India was liberated from British slavery. Not only did Pakistan suffer a crushing defeat in this war, but also Bangladesh, formerly known as East Pakistan, slipped out of its hands. The background to the war for the liberation of Bangladesh was tied with the birth of Pakistan. Many factors such as hostile treatment of the people of East Pakistan, language controversy, political neglect, army atrocities under Operation Searchlight, poverty and starvation led to Bangladesh's liberation struggle but less is mentioned Was.

The negative climate of Asmani and Sultana provoked the people of East Pakistan to become independent. Bhola struck off the coast of East Pakistan (now Bangladesh) on the evening of November 19, almost a year before the liberation struggle began. The tropical cyclone was so powerful that it killed 6 to 7 lakh people in the coastal areas. The hurricane not only tarnished the image of Pakistan's dictator Yahya Khan's government. At that time, the government tried to reduce the severity of the hurricane by suppressing communication devices and propaganda equipment. As the protests spread, the college youth staged a big rally on November 19.

Abdul Hameed Khan Bhashani, a leader who addressed a large gathering of 50,000 people on November 9, lashed out at the Pakistani government, admitting that the Pakistani authorities had made a mistake, but not with crocodile tears. During the months of February and March of the calendar year 191, the government closed two government relief offices indiscriminately. The government halted development work in Bangladesh (East Pakistan). The Awami League vehemently opposed the move in the political arena. Eventually limited time relief work began but long term plans and development work stalled. The Hunsatunsi turned into a civil war that lasted until the Bangladesh Liberation War. It was the first time that a natural event had caused a civil war to erupt.
