The number of U.S. jobless claims fell to a 52-year low

The US job market is emerging from last year's Corona virus recession. The number of U.S. jobless claims seeking unemployment benefits has fallen to a 52-year low.

Last week, the number of jobless claims fell from 3,000 to 1,8,000, the lowest number since September 12, the US Labor Department said in a statement.

The number of Americans receiving unemployment benefits has dropped to less than 3 million in the week ending November 8. At the beginning of January this year, the number of jobless claims has reached 3 lakh.

In March and April last year, the companies laid off 25 million jobs. The US economy is recovering from massive government support and vaccinations.

The recovery in the economy has boosted the confidence of Americans and they are buying more. Compared to April last year, 12 million jobs were created in the United States.

However, compared to February, 2020, there are still 3 lakh less jobs. Unemployment fell to 7.5 per cent in November. Which was 4.5 per cent in October
