Industrial output rises 4.5 per cent in October

Industrial production stood at 7.5 per cent in October 2011 on the back of good performance in the mining, power and manufacturing sectors.

The manufacturing sector weighed in at 2.4 per cent of the Index of Industrial Production (IIP) -based industrial production. Manufacturing sector output rose 2% in October, according to figures released by the National Statistical Office (NSO).

IIP has been 12.5 points in October, 2021. In October 2020, the IIP increased by 7.5 per cent.

During the April-October period of this year, industrial production has increased by 30 per cent. Industrial production declined by 12.5 per cent in the same period last year.

In January this year, industrial production fell by 0.2 per cent and in January by 2.4 per cent. In March, it had risen by 4.5 per cent.

In July this year, industrial production grew by 11.5 per cent and in August by 18 per cent. In October 2020, electricity generation increased by 11.5 per cent.
