Indian US adviser to key positions in the White House


Washington: US President Joe Biden has appointed Indian-American political adviser Gautam Raghavan as head of the White House Office of Presidential Personnel. The White House Presidential Personnel Office (PPO) has written to the Office of the Presidential Personnel that the White House Office has to scrutinize new appointments.

The PPO is the most important decision-making office in the White House. Biden appointed Raghavan to his new post on Friday. He is currently the Deputy Director of PPO. UN Secretary-General Antonia Guterres has announced the appointment of Kathy Russell as the next Executive Director of UNICEF. Kathy is currently the head of the WH PPO.

Under Kathy's leadership, PPOs have broken records in hiring speed and diversity. With that, he has consistently ensured that the federal government reflects America and works for the American people, Biden said.

"I am happy that Gautam Raghavan, who has been working with Kathy since day one, will be the new director of PPO," he said. These relentless changes will enable us to make the federal workforce more efficient, effective, reliable and diverse.

Raghavan was born in India. He is a graduate of Stanford University. Way West is also the editor of Wings Stories from the Dream Chaser, Change Makers, and Hope Creators Inside the Obama White House. Raghavan, 40, is gay and lives in Washington with her husband and daughter.

Gautam has been the Deputy Assistant to the President. He was the first elected member of the Biden and Harris administration's transition team. Raghav also served as the Chief of Staff to American Representative Pramila Jaipali
