HTLS 2021 Finance Minister Sitaram hopes for a bright future for the economy

- The Kovid epidemic has overwhelmed the economy

- Government's policy is to promote small and medium enterprises: Disinvestment will be accelerated: Emphasis will be placed on infrastructure

New Delhi: In her speech at the Hindustan Times Leadership Summit (HTLS), Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitaram said: "By all accounts, the Indian economy is looking better. It has also surpassed Kovid 15 and Omicron epidemics.

However, it is also true that he had to deal with epidemics. However, I hope that this year's GDP figures will be encouraging, and the Indian economy will continue to be the fastest growing in the world. For that, disinvestment also has to be expedited.

"They are spreading fast," he said of Kovid-12 and Omicron. There is no need to worry too much about it though. The government is taking all necessary steps in this regard. However, it is not clear at this stage what the outcome may be, but it is important to remember that the Prime Minister must continue to follow the steps he has repeatedly taken.

He further said that India has largely overcome the effects of these epidemics, and is on the path of steady growth.

The Union Finance Minister further said that the government has been providing continuous assistance to small and medium enterprises (SMEs) and many small scale industries and assistance has been provided more carefully since the onset of the epidemic. The Central Government's Emergency Liquidity Guarantee Credit Scheme and e-Labor Portal have played an important role in this. At the same time, it seems that even in the informal sector, it will gradually become a formal setter.

He further said that India was moving ahead with the epidemic. And we have only touched 6 out of 20 high frequency indicators for the economy, and 14 of those indicators have reached pre-pandemic (pre-epidemic) state. Not only this, with the help of fire you can do welding. Emphasis will also be placed on infrastructure for this survey.

Speaking on GDP, the finance minister said that during the second phase of the fiscal year 2021-2 (July-September), the rate was 4.5 per cent. Which is a very promising thing.

He was asked, in a nutshell, when the crocodile economy has outpaced the impact of the epidemic, to which his answer was 'yes'.

He further said that looking at the level of 2011-12, in the second phase ending in September, the GDP had reached 4.5 trillion. At the end of the second phase of September 2016 (growth rate recorded before the epidemic) was slightly higher than the rate of 2.31 trillion (expenditure).
