Andhra Pradesh, Odisha, Bengal Hurricane Javad Hurricane Weakening Relief



The people of the coastal areas breathed a sigh of relief as the Jawad hurricane weakened due to the depression created in the Bay of Bengal. However, coastal areas of Andhra Pradesh and Odisha were hit by winds of 60 to 70 kmph. One died when a tree fell in Andhra Pradesh.
Government agencies and the people breathed a sigh of relief as Hurricane Jawad weakened in Andhra Pradesh, Odisha and West Bengal. However, 15,000 people were evacuated to the three states for security reasons. However, as the intensity of the hurricane subsided, large-scale migration was halted.
A tree collapsed due to strong winds in Srikakulam district of Andhra Pradesh. One teenager was killed. It rained all day in Andhra Pradesh, but the wind intensity was lower than expected. The wind started blowing at a speed of 30 to 40 kmph late at night. However, the probability of reaching as high as 100 to 150 kmph was reduced.
Odisha and West Bengal received rainy weather but no heavy rainfall.
The meteorological department said the weak and slow-moving storm at sea would disperse after hitting the land of Odisha. However, the effect is likely to last till late night of December 9. It will rain in Odisha and Bengal on December 9. There was drizzle in some parts of West Bengal.
Three teams of National Disaster Response Force have been deployed in all the three states for rescue and relief operations. The Central Government reviewed the status of Jawad after receiving reports from all the three states.
