Money laundering accused Sukesh Chandrasekhar reportedly gave Jacqueline a gift of Rs 10 crore

Mumbai: Famous Bollywood actress Jacqueline Fernandes was stopped at the airport by the ED on her way to Dubai today. The ED had for some time been investigating the connection between Jacqueline and Sukesh Chandrasekhar, accused in a Rs 200 crore money laundering case.

Meanwhile, the ED had recently filed a 7,000-page chargesheet in a Rs 200 crore money laundering case. The main accused Sukesh Chandrasekhar, his actor wife Leena Maria Polly and six others have been charged in the chargesheet.

According to reports, Chandrasekhar gave a gift of Rs 10 crore to famous Bollywood actress Jacqueline Fernandes. The gift includes a horse worth 52 lakh rupees and Persian cats worth 9 lakh rupees.

Sukesh, who is running a ransom racket from jail, is also said to have given a luxury car and an expensive mobile phone to another Bollywood actress, Nora Fatehi.

The ED had filed the chargesheet against a Delhi court. It is alleged that Sukesh Chandrasekhar demanded Rs 200 crore from the wife of an industrialist husband while he was lodged in Tihar Jail. The chargesheet names both Jacqueline and Nora Fatehi. The two actresses have also been questioned by the ED in this regard.

According to media reports, Sukesh and Jacqueline started talking in January this year. Then Sukesh Chandrasekhar started sending expensive gifts to Jacqueline. According to the investigating agencies, Suresh used to talk to Jacqueline even when he was in jail.

After getting bail, Sukesh also booked a chartered flight for Jacqueline from Mumbai to Delhi and from Delhi to Chennai. The two also stayed at a hotel in Chennai. It is also said that Rs 8 crore was spent on the chartered flight.

The Economic Crimes Branch of the Delhi Police had registered an FIR in the matter in August. There are many cases pending against Chandrasekhar across the country. The ED had registered the offense on the basis of a police FIR. Sukesh is accused of cheating and extorting money from the wife of an industrialist husband by becoming an official of the Home Ministry.
