Itanagar: Two days after five Assam Rifles personnel were killed, paramilitary forces killed three militants belonging to the separatist organization National Socialist Council of Nagaland (Khaplang) in the hinterland of Arunachal Pradesh's Longding district. The three extremists have not yet been identified. The bodies of the three extremists have been sent for postmortem.

Meanwhile, Suman Swargiyari, a jawan of 46 Assam Rifles who was martyred in an extremist attack in Manipur on Saturday, was cremated today in Assam's Baksa district. The two-and-a-half-year-old son of the martyred jawan also offered flowers on the coffin of his selfless father. The scene was very heartbreaking.

A Naxal commander was shot dead during an ambush in Chhattisgarh's Narayanpur district, a senior police official said in a statement. The scuffle started at 11.30 am today when a team of District Reserve Guard (DRG) was patrolling in the outer forest of Chhotedongar police station.
