The effect of the law is not studied so the cases in the court increase

Chief Justice concerned over increasing burden of cases

The Chief Justice thanked the Center for allocating Rs 9,000 crore for the development of the judicial structure

New Delhi: The country's Chief Justice NV Ramanna has said that once a law is enacted, it does not study how it is affecting the people, which has become a major issue and increases the burden of cases on the courts.

Addressing the concluding function of the Constitution Day, Ramnath Kovinde said that the number of pending cases was increasing. It is hoped that the government will consider suggestions for resolving the issue during the two-day event. Union Law Minister Kiran Rijiju was also present on the occasion.

Chief Justice of the Supreme Court N.V. Ramanna said another issue is that no study is being done on how the laws that are being enacted are having an impact on the public. Following which it assumes a larger form.

Section 138 of the Negotiable Instruments Act is an example of this. The case load is already increasing. The Chief Justice praised the Union Law Minister for providing Rs 9,000 crore for the development of the judicial structure by the government.
