New Delhi: The CBI has filed a chargesheet against Navy commanders Jagdish and Abhishek Shaw for allegedly leaking secret information about the Indian Navy ship INS Sindhuratna MRLC project.

Giving this information, the CBI official said that besides this, chargesheets have also been filed against Commander Ajit Pandey and retired officer Commodore Randeep Singh for leaking information regarding advance payment regarding INS Sindhuratna-MRLC project.

Earlier, two chargesheets had been filed against six Navy personnel. An investigation is underway against Commander Jagdish and Commander Abhishek Shaw, who were arrested on September 21. Chargesheets have been filed against the two officers on September 30.

Retired officers, Commodore Randeep Singh and Commander S.J. Singh and Army Commander Ajit Pandey, Commander Jagdish and the executive director of Hyderabad-based Allen Reinforced Plastics Limited have been granted default bail.

In this regard, the defense counsel in his successful submission said that the case has been filed by the CBI under the official secret affair. It also runs in Tapas but it is not mentioned in the chargesheet. So the chargesheet itself is incomplete. Therefore, those on whom the chargesheet has been placed are eligible to get default bail.

In addition, if the investigating agency fails to file a chargesheet against the accused within 60 days or 90 days, depending on the severity of the allegations, the accused is liable to obtain a default bail. This was stated by the defense counsel before the court in his submission.
