The cabinet will vote on the repeal of the three agricultural laws on Wednesday

New Delhi, Dt
The government will take another step in this direction after Prime Minister Narendra Modi announced the repeal of three controversial agricultural laws. A bill to repeal agricultural laws is likely to be passed in the Union Cabinet on Wednesday. On the other hand, the farmers' unions, which have been protesting on the Delhi border for almost a year, met on Sunday and decided to write a letter to Prime Minister Modi on their pending demands. Apart from this, the farmers' meeting has been postponed till the 8th regarding the PM's announcement.
Sources said that after the Prime Minister announced the repeal of the controversial agricultural laws, a bill in this regard would now be introduced in the Union Cabinet, which would get the approval of the Cabinet and complete the constitutional process of repealing the agricultural laws by introducing the bill in the winter session. On the occasion of Guru Nanak's birth anniversary, the Prime Minister on Friday announced the repeal of controversial agricultural laws and urged the farmers to return home after concluding the agitation. The decision by the Prime Minister to step down is seen by one section as a push for assembly elections in five states, while another section sees it as a master stroke of the PM.
The farmers, however, refused to call off the agitation until the laws were constitutionally repealed in Parliament. A meeting of the Samyukta Kisan Morcha, a major organization of farmers' organizations agitating on the borders of Delhi, was held at the Singhu border on Sunday in the wake of the Prime Minister's announcement to repeal the Agriculture Act.
Regarding the decisions taken at the meeting, farmer leader Balbir Rajewal said the agitation would continue till the law is repealed in Parliament. All the pre-determined programs of Samyukta Kisan Morcha will be held on time, according to which Mahapanchayat will be held in Lucknow on Monday 9th November. He added that an open letter would be written to Prime Minister Modi on demands other than repeal of Morcha's agriculture laws, including the MSP Committee, Electricity Bill 2020, withdrawal of cases registered against farmers, compensation-employment opportunities for families of farmers who lost their lives during agitation and Lakhimpur Khiri. Demands like dismissal of Minister Ajay Mishra Tenny will be presented.
Meanwhile, a meeting of farmers' organizations in connection with Prime Minister Modi's announcement to repeal the Agriculture Act has been postponed till November 9. Now in the meeting to be held on 9th, the direction and state of the movement, future strategy will be decided. The United Kisan Morcha does not want to take any decision on the movement in a hurry. He will wait until the cabinet meeting on Wednesday, November 9, before making any formal announcement.
