Criminal Manusami was caught by police in 2018 with a bag full of drugs

SINGAPORE: A 39-year-old Malaysian man of Indian descent who was caught with a bag full of drugs in 2018 was sentenced by a Singapore court to death for drug trafficking.

The court had earlier sentenced another 33-year-old Malaysian national of Indian origin to death for drug trafficking. He was scheduled to be hanged on November 10, but his death sentence was postponed as the court did not consider it appropriate to execute him in these circumstances due to the transition of Corona's heir.

Manusami Ramamurthy, an Indian-Malaysian national who was caught by police with a bag of drugs on his motorcycle near Harborfront Avenue here in 2018, was sentenced to death by the Singapore High Court last Wednesday, according to media reports. Manusami was caught with 6.3 kilograms of granular drugs.

Analysis of the drugs revealed that up to 57 kg of heroin could be made from such a quantity of the drug.
