A new revelation has come to light in the case of fugitive former police commissioner Paramvir Singh after former Maharashtra home minister Anil Deshmukh was accused of illegal recovery. So far, it has been said that Paramvir Singh has fled the country to escape investigation. Now his lawyer has told the Supreme Court that he is in the country and ready to co-operate in the investigation.

During the hearing on Paramvir Singh's plea, his lawyer told the apex court that he was hiding because his life was in danger from the Mumbai police. He is ready to appear in CBI or court within 48 hours.

Following the revelation, the apex court has asked Paramvir Singh to co-operate in the probe. The court has now stayed the arrest of Paramvir Singh and directed him to co-operate throughout the investigation of the case. His lawyer told the court that Paramvir Singh was being implicated in the entire case. Only those officers whom he has punished for corrupt conduct have been made prosecutors today.

The Supreme Court has sent notices to the CBI and the Maharashtra DGP in this regard. Under it, any action against Paramvir Singh is currently banned. The court will hold a further hearing on December 6.
