PLA backs China over attack on Assam rifle convoy in Manipur

New Delhi, Dt
Northeast India, on the border between China and Myanmar, has once again been the target of a deadly extremist attack. At least six Assam Rifles commanding officer Colonel Viplav Tripathi, his wife and two children have been killed in an attack on a convoy of Assam Rifles in Manipur. The People's Liberation Army (PLA) Manipur has claimed responsibility for the attack. China is feeding this extremist organization that matches the name of the Chinese military PLA. The Chinese military PLA is training these extremists in Myanmar.
Security has been beefed up at the Myanmar border following an attack on a convoy of Assam Rifles' Colonel Viplav in Manipur. In addition, the Assam Rifles along with the Manipur police have launched an operation in the vicinity of Saken village to nab the militants of two extremist outfits, PLA and MNPF. According to sources, the Manipur-based militant group People's Liberation Army (PLA) is closely associated with China's People's Liberation Army (PLA). The attack was premeditated, according to a preliminary investigation into the attack on Colonel Viplav's convoy. More than a dozen sophisticated militants were involved in the attack. He detonated four IEDs and then opened fire indiscriminately.
According to intelligence sources, PLA Manipur extremists are carrying out attacks in Manipur at the behest of China. They receive Chinese military training in neighboring Myanmar. They attacked and fled to Myanmar. The PLA Manipur extremists are dreaming of separating the northeastern region from India with the help of China and occupying other parts of the country based on it.
Organizations monitoring terrorist groups say the PLA has the full support of the Chinese military for Manipur extremists and is the one who provides training and weapons to the extremists. China's state-run newspaper Global Times denied the Chinese military's PLA ties to Manipur, but the extremist group itself admitted that it was being trained by the Chinese military. According to a report, Chinese weapons such as AK-4 assault rifles, machine guns, anti-tank mines and grenades reach Myanmar, from where they are given to extremists across the border. A senior official said that due to the ambush, India needed to reconsider its strategy to counter extremist groups in the Northeast.
Meanwhile, the PLA and the Manipur Naga People's Front (MNPF) claimed responsibility for the attack on the Assam Rifles convoy. He said in a statement that the convoy of Assam Rifles was attacked by PLA and MNPF at 10.3 am on Saturday. However, he was not aware of the colonel's wife and child in the convoy.
