No Diwali and no fireworks, yet pollution like Delhi in Beijing

Beijing, Ta. 5. November 2021 Friday

Like the Indian capital, Delhi, the Chinese capital, Beijing, is plagued by pollution.

The same scenes are being seen in Beijing as in Delhi and Diwali has not been celebrated here and no fireworks have been set off.

In some areas, visibility was less than 200 meters. As a result, some highways were closed. In addition, the government ordered the closure of factories to reduce pollution. Holidays were declared in schools to protect children from pollution.

Pollution in Beijing has risen to the point where the city's tallest building is lost in a blanket of pollution.

The government has also set up an air purification plant in Beijing. Cold winds from Siberia are likely to ease pollution in Beijing next week.
