Government officials in Uttar Pradesh are arrogant: Supreme

Court offended by arbitrariness in paying arrears to employee

Delays in complying with court order clear the way for the arrest of two people, including the Uttar Pradesh finance secretary

New Delhi: The Supreme Court today slammed the Uttar Pradesh government in a case. A bench of the court on Saturday termed the officials as "arrogant" and dismissed the Uttar Pradesh government's appeal on Saturday. It also cleared the way for the arrest of the state finance secretary and additional chief secretary.

The case is related to a collection in the Allahabad High Court to regularize the service to Amin and to settle the arrears. The Allahabad High Court, while hearing the case on November 1, noted that the officials were treating the court as a playground and the officials had deliberately misled the High Court.

The Allahabad High Court had ordered to pay the pension as well as other benefits within three months by attaching the service with the date of appointment of the permanent collection amino. Two people, including the finance secretary, could be arrested for delaying compliance with a High Court order.
