For the seventh week in a row, corona cases have risen in 61 European countries


Of the 33 million new cases added last week, 21 million were in Europe alone

Hospital shortage of hospital beds as cases increase in Minnesota and Michigan in US: 22,479 new cases of corona in Czech Republic

PARIS: Europe is currently the only region in the world where new cases and deaths from corona are on the rise, according to a weekly report by the World Health Organization. The number of corona cases in Europe has risen by five per cent in the past week. A total of 33 lakh cases of corona were reported in the world last week, out of which 21 lakh cases were reported in Europe.

Russia, the UK and Germany are among the countries with the highest number of corona cases. The EU consists of 61 countries. Including Russia and Central Asia. Countries that lack vaccines have also seen a drop in mortality in Southeast Asia and Africa. The death toll in Corona rose to 67 percent in Norway and 38 percent in Slovakia.

The World Health Organization (WHO) has warned that Europe could be the epicenter of the Corona epidemic, with another 500,000 deaths expected by January if timely steps are not taken. Austria and the Netherlands imposed a lockdown last week after the UK began offering booster doses to all people over the age of 40.

In the Czech Republic, 22,479 new cases of corona were reported, while in Slovakia, 8,342 new cases were reported. With hospitals in Slovakia overflowing with corona patients, the government has decided to impose new restrictions on non-vaccinators. The rate of infection per 100,000 inhabitants in the Czech Republic rose from 558 a week ago to 813 this week.

In the USA, on the other hand, there is a shortage of beds in Minnesota and Michigan this week as 3,000 Corona patients were admitted to the hospital for treatment. Even in Minnesota, all the hospital beds are full. At present, 40,000 Corona patients are admitted to hospitals in the US every day. Michigan has the highest infection rate in the U.S. in the past week.

Michigan has an infection rate of 503 per 100,000 people, followed by Minnesota at 490 per 100,000. The situation is improving in the US as a whole, but there has been a sharp rise in corona cases in the Northeast, the Rockies and the Upper Midwest. The Biden administration, on the other hand, has offered to lend money to farm companies to produce one billion doses of the corona vaccine each year.

Meanwhile, according to a study conducted in the UK, corona virus can be removed from corona wards of hospitals by air filtration by machine. According to the study, published in the journal Clinical Infectious Diseases, portable air filtration and ultraviolet sterilization devices are useful in removing airborne corona viruses from hospital corona wards.
