ED raids Supertech premises in Delhi-NCR

(PTI) New delhi date. 13

The Enforcement Directorate (ED) raided various premises of the real estate group Supertech in a money laundering case, officials said in a statement.

According to officials, raids were carried out in the premises of Suparatak and its promoters in the National Capital Region (NCR). On August 31, the apex court had ordered the demolition of the twin towers of Noida-based Supertech. The Supreme Court had ordered the demolition of both the towers as they were constructed illegally.

The Supreme Court had given six months to demolish the two towers. This time will end on November 30. The two 50-storey towers built on the premises of Supertech's Emerald Court housing project have more than 200 flats and 21 shops.

It may be mentioned that the Allahabad High Court had ordered the demolition of these two towers in 2012 itself. The apex court has upheld the Allahabad High Court's order in 2021 and ordered its repeal.

Following the order, Supertech filed a petition in the Supreme Court seeking reconsideration of the judgment. Supertech said in its reconsideration application that it was ready to demolish a portion of the two towers instead of dismantling them. However, the apex court also rejected the plea.
