China seizes land in Arunachal and settles village: India's silence

Washington, Ta. 3
China has set up a village near the Line of Actual Control (LAC) in the Arunachal Pradesh sector. A Pentagon report has claimed that the village was settled on Indian soil. China has built a large village in a disputed area in the Arunachal Pradesh sector, according to the US Department of State's annual report on military and security development. Not only that, China has been harassing India by constantly manipulating the LAC as part of its strategy to increase pressure on its claims. However, India has responded to all Chinese conspiracies.
China has also tried to stop India from forging closer ties with the United States, but has failed, the Pentagon said in a recent report. Sources said on Tuesday that the village was in a disputed border area in the Chinese-controlled area of Upper Sabansiri, following a Pentagon report that China had infiltrated a village within 2.5 km of Arunachal Pradesh. The Chinese army had occupied the area for a long time after seizing the Assam Rifles post in an operation known as the Longju incident on the 19th Arunachal Pradesh border. Since then, in almost six decades, it has gradually built a 'village of 100 houses of citizens'. According to a Pentagon report, China has built a large village of 100 houses in the disputed area between the Chinese Tibet Autonomous Region and Arunachal Pradesh in the eastern sector of the LAC in 2020.
The US Department of Defense has told the US Congress that the People's Republic of China (PRC) does not want India and the US to come closer because of border disputes. Chinese officials have warned US officials not to interfere in China's relations with India. The Pentagon said that in early May 2020, Chinese troops began infiltrating Indian-controlled territory from across the border and deployed troops to several areas of conflict on the LAC. By June 2021, China and India had retained large numbers of troops on the LAC. In addition, adequate reserve forces from the military districts of Tibet and Xinjiang were deployed in the hinterland of western China to prepare them for a quick response.
In June 1990, 20 Indian soldiers were killed in a clash in the Galvan Valley. This is the first time since 19 that a soldier has been killed on a LAC. The Pentagon said that in February 2021, China's Central Military Commission (CMC) announced posthumous awards to four PLA soldiers. However, the total number of Chinese soldiers killed in the Galvan Valley is not yet known. The Pentagon said that despite ongoing political and military negotiations to reduce tensions on the border, China has repeatedly stepped up strategic actions to put pressure on the LAC over its claims. However, India has thwarted all its efforts and successfully confronted China.
