Child Pornography: 10 arrested in 77 places including Gujarat

CBI raids cities including Bhavnagar, Jamnagar

Investigations in 14 states for possession or viewing of child sexual abuse material, FIR against 83 accused

New Delhi: The CBI conducted raids at 77 locations across the country, including Gujarat. The raids were carried out for viewing, broadcasting and storing child sexual abuse material on social media platforms.

The CBI had conducted raids in about 14 states across the country. According to the information received by the CBI, several groups are active on social media for such crimes. Which transmits child sexual abuse material.

Many of these groups also have ties with foreign countries. Many citizens of at least 100 countries are involved in disseminating such offensive material in different countries. The agency had on November 14 started filing FIRs against 83 accused.

During which raids were also started. At present, about 10 people have been arrested by the CBI. Bhavnagar and Jamnagar in Gujarat are also among the places where these raids were carried out. A large number of laptops and other gadgets were also seized during this time.

Details have also surfaced that some individuals were involved in the trade of CSEM materials. CBI spokesperson RC Joshi said the probe was conducted in Andhra, Delhi, Uttar Pradesh, Punjab, Bihar, Odisha, Tamil Nadu, Rajasthan, Maharashtra, Gujarat, Haryana, Chhattisgarh, Madhya Pradesh and Himachal Pradesh. The investigation is still being carried out in several places.
