BJP hopes return of government in Uttar Pradesh, benefits in Punjab

New Delhi, Dt
With assembly elections to be held in five states, including Uttar Pradesh and Punjab, early next year, the BJP, as per its tradition, has already blown the election campaign bugle. However, farmers' dissatisfaction with the three controversial agricultural laws in Punjab and Uttar Pradesh was a matter of concern for the BJP. With Prime Minister Narendra Modi announcing the repeal of the three agricultural laws on Friday, the BJP is hoping to take political advantage of the situation and return to power in Uttar Pradesh.
The biggest opposition to the agricultural law was in Punjab, Haryana and Uttar Pradesh. In this, Prime Minister Modi has started trying to convince the farmers of Punjab by withdrawing this law on the birth anniversary of Guru Nanak. After a year-long peasant agitation, the Prime Minister's decision to repeal agricultural laws has given the BJP a new ray of hope in Punjab and Uttar Pradesh.
The BJP was facing heavy opposition at the ground level in Punjab due to the agriculture law. That is why the 6-year-old ally Shiromani Akali Dal in Punjab split with the BJP. Despite announcing the withdrawal of the law, the Akali Dal has now categorically refused to ally with the BJP. Party President Sukhbir Singh said that these laws have been withdrawn after the death of more than 200 farmers and that too at a time when elections are to be held in Punjab and Uttar Pradesh. Therefore, there is no question of alliance with BJP.
In Punjab, on the other hand, the ruling Congress has been opposing agricultural laws from the beginning. He had also twice passed a resolution in the Punjab Legislative Assembly against these laws. Now that the law has been withdrawn, Congress will come forward to take credit for it. He will now claim that he has forced the Modi government to reverse the decision. However, you and the Akali Dal will also compete for the credit of the announcement of the repeal of agricultural laws. However, the announcement of repeal of the Agriculture Act has put an end to an important issue in the BJP's opposition to the Opposition.
Meanwhile, the government's decision to repeal agricultural laws is "very unfortunate". This is because the BJP's political move will not stop the farmers' movement and will not benefit the party in Uttar Pradesh-Punjab, said a member of the Supreme Court-appointed panel on agricultural law. Anil J, President of the Farmers' Association and a member of the panel. "The demand for legal protection of farmers' support prices is still there," Ghanwat said. Therefore, this decision will not benefit the BJP politically. This is a very unfortunate decision.
