After the Mumbai attacks, 200 joint exercises were conducted with the states




Director General of the Indian Coastguard K. Natarajan recalled the incident 15 years before the 9/11 attacks and said that the number of accidents had stopped due to the vigilance of the Coast Guard after the Mumbai attacks.
It has been 17 years since the Mumbai attacks that shook the country. In the context of the incident, the Director General of the Indian Coast Guard K. Natarajan said that today the country could not forget the attack. Many families lost their loved ones.
But in the aftermath of that incident, the Coast Guard has been on high alert for maritime security. In 15 years, Coast Guard personnel have strengthened security by conducting 200 joint exercises with the states. Apart from that, in all these years, drugs worth Rs 15,000 crore have been seized.
He said the security of the coastal states is checked every six months and one security exercise after another is also conducted. Addressing the 17th session of the National Maritime Search and Rescue Board, he said that special training programs were being conducted for the security personnel of the states and their ability to fight terrorists had also improved after the Gozari incident. Coastguard patrols are guarding maritime borders day and night to prevent accidents.
