The US government spies on the Google account of ordinary people

There has been a 33 percent increase in espionage activity this year compared to last year

Google has so far sent 50,000 alerts to its users

New Delhi: The US government has received reports that it is spying on the Google accounts of ordinary people in the country. The government is said to have used malware to spy on ordinary people's accounts. The news was also confirmed by Google, a giant in the world of internet.

The company said that in the year 2021, it had sent about 50,000 warnings to its users about the government-sponsored hacking activity, alerting them whose accounts had been attacked by malware. Google also said in a report that spying activity by the government had risen sharply by 33 per cent this year compared to last year.

Respecting the privacy of its users, the companies said they deliberately alerted users by sending warnings so that they would be alert to potential threats, and that attacking attackers would not be able to track their users' defense strategy.

The company said its software, called Tag, tracks and identifies about 270 government-backed militant groups in 50 countries every day. The company further stated in its blogpost that it had thwarted many such attempts by the attacking groups, including the thwarted efforts of an Iranian group backed by the Iranian government called APT-35.

This group often monitors the accounts of the most at-risk users. Over the years, the group has hijacked a number of people's accounts, sent malware into their accounts, and tried new methods to successfully carry out conspiracies against the interests of the Iranian government.

In early 2021, the group hacked a UK website to infiltrate spy software. This is a group that sends emails to users with messages requiring information for their Gmail, Hotmail, and Yahoo accounts, as well as warning that their accounts will be blocked if the requested information is not provided.
