The Ministry of Finance has allocated Rs. 21 crore grant issued

The central government has released Rs 21 crore in revenue grants to 14 states, the finance ministry said in a statement. An official statement said the amount would be distributed among 17 states based on the recommendations of the 13th Finance Commission.

These 12 states include Andhra Pradesh, Assam, Haryana, Himachal Pradesh, Karnataka, Kerala, Manipur, Meghalaya, Mizoram, Nagaland, Punjab, Rajasthan, Sikkim, Tamil Nadu, Tripura, Uttarakhand, and West Bengal.

The Expenditure Department of the Ministry of Finance has released the seventh monthly installment of Post Devaluation Revenue Deficit (PDRD), an official statement said. Under which a grant of Rs 21 crore will be allotted to the states.

Along with this installment, a total of Rs 3,04 crore has been allocated to the states in the current financial year as post devolution revenue deficit grant (PDRD). The Finance Commission had recommended allocating these grants to 13 states in the financial year 2021-2.

The decision on which state to grant this grant and which states not to grant is taken by the Finance Commission. The decision of the Finance Commission takes into account the revenue and expenditure of the states.

The Finance Ministry further said that the 13th Finance Commission has recommended allocation of a total of Rs 1,16,8 crore under PDRD to 16 states in the current financial year 2021-2. Out of which Rs 3,08 crore has been paid so far.
