The limit of family pension has been increased to a maximum of Rs 2.5 lakh

New Delhi: Ahead of Diwali, the defense ministry has made a big announcement on family pension. According to the ministry, the maximum limit of family pension to be given to children has been increased. The change will benefit children whose parents fall under the jurisdiction of the Seventh Central Wage Commission. In addition, the name of the child is registered in the heirs of both.

According to a statement from the ministry, the highest pension in the government service has been revised to Rs 2.5 lakh per month. This decision will be implemented from January 1, 2018. Thus, children born from January 1, 2016 till now will get benefit.

The Ministry of Defense has implemented this order for the personnel of the Armed Forces. Currently the child of a government employee who meets all the conditions is eligible for two family pensions. The maximum amount of both family pensions is 1,25,000 per month.

If both the family pensions are fixed at normal rates, a maximum of Rs 75,000 per month can be obtained. Thus, due to the new change, the children of the employees of the Ministry of Defense will get a huge amount of pension.
