The Center approved 18,000 houses, but the SP government did not build even 15

Allegations against Modi's SP government in Lucknow

Having committed the crime of giving houses, the cost of the poor may have increased as the movement of people at home increased: Modi's sarcasm

LUCKNOW: Amid controversy over a car crash on farmers in Lakhimpur Khiri, Prime Minister Narendra Modi today lashed out at the previous SP government in view of the Uttar Pradesh Assembly elections. In Lucknow, Modi said the previous Samajwadi Party government had no interest in building houses for the poor.

Modi claimed that the previous Samajwadi Party government had not allowed the central government's housing schemes to be implemented. Before the BJP government came to power in Uttar Pradesh in 2014, the central government had approved the construction of 12,000 new houses for the state. However, the then Samajwadi Party government did not build even 15 houses.

These houses were to be constructed under Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana. Addressing the New Urban India Conclave, Narendra Modi said the Center had also sent money and approved the construction of houses. However the Samajwadi Party government created obstacles and did not allow these houses to happen.

Modi also claimed that most houses have been built during the tenure of my government. The Center has sanctioned 1.16 crore houses in cities. Out of which 3 million houses have already been completed and handed over to the poor.

Modi said that only 15 lakh houses were sanctioned under this program before 2014. Modi, meanwhile, while talking to the beneficiary, said that since the house was found, the visits of relatives may have increased.

In reply, the beneficiary said that yes, the number of people has increased. Later, Modi jokingly said that the cost of housing may have gone up due to overcrowding. It may be alleged that Modi increased the cost of the poor by providing houses. He committed a crime by giving a house.
