Radical party activists carry out violence in Islamabad, killing three

Violent clashes in Pakistan have killed three policemen and injured 20 others. The capital was taken hostage by the radical Islamic Party. Pakistan's interior minister has said that the banned Islamic Party fired AK-4 bullets at police.
Tehreek-e-I-Labak Pakistan (TLP) activists held Islamabad hostage to put pressure on Imran Khan's government. Thousands of activists from the banned Islamic Party carried out violence in Islamabad and fired AK-47s at police convoys. Three policemen were killed and more than 20 others were injured. The condition of many of the injured policemen was said to be critical.
Activists from the banned TLP marched to Islamabad. The march came with demands for the release of the organisation's president, Saad Rizvi, and the protests turned violent. Not only that, the activists of this party also demanded the immediate deportation of the ambassador of France.
Home Minister Sheikh Rashid said about 15,000 workers were still in Islamabad. If the situation does not improve, Rangers will be deployed in Punjab in the coming days.
The radical group has been pushing for the deportation of the French ambassador since last year, when French President Emmanuel Macro commented on the cartoon issue of the Prophet Mohammed. Saad Rizvi, the president of the banned group, was arrested in April after violence erupted over the issue. Now there was violence again to free him. Negotiations between the two have been going on for some time, but no solution was forthcoming and eventually there was heavy violence in the capital.
