Farmers demand removal of Ashish's father Ajay Mishra from Lakhimpur incident

Chandigarh: Farmers in Punjab and Haryana, who were adamant about demanding removal of Ajay Mishra, father of Ashish Mishra, the main accused in the Lakhimpur-Kheri incident, from the Union Cabinet, sat on the railway tracks in the morning and disrupted rail services. So that the passengers had to face parawar difficulties. As a result, railway passengers in Punjab and Haryana had to face many difficulties, they had to stay for a long time.

The demonstrations were held in several places. Protesters in Ludhiana, Amritsar, Jalandhar, Moga, Patiala, Ferozepur and Charkhi Dadri in Punjab, Sonipat, Kurukshetra, Jind, Karnal and Hissar in Punjab sat on the railway tracks. The protesters included women and children. They were chanting slogans against the BJP government and also for the arrest of Ajay Mishra. They were also demanding removal of Ajay Mishra from the Union Cabinet.

Security at railway stations was tightened in view of the farmers' rail-stop movement.

According to railway officials, farmers sat on the railway tracks near Ferozepur station as well as in Ferozepur-Fazilka section, Ferozepur-Ludhiana section and Ajitwal section in Moga district and disrupted railway operations.

The agitation will continue till justice is done in the Lakhimpur-Kheri incident, the United Kisan Morcha said in a statement. Our agitation will continue till the Union Minister of State for Home Affairs Ajay Mishra is removed from his post and he is also arrested.

Not only that but the United Kisan Morcha (SKM) has now decided to expand the movement and make it nationwide.

SKM has decided today to continue its rail-stop movement from 10 am to 6 pm. Ta. Regarding the 19th agitation, the peasant leaders have strongly instructed their followers, "This agitation must be peaceful and the railway property must not be damaged in any way."

Some side effects of this movement have also been observed. Only when a person who wanted to go to Jodhpur reached Ludhiana did he know that the Rail-Roko movement had started. The farmers told the protesters that they should besiege the houses of ministers and the residences of politicians instead of putting the people in trouble.

A man in Ludhiana said that in Gonda, Uttar Pradesh, as one of his relatives had died, he and his family had to reach there, but there was an obstacle.

In Moga, a train was stopped due to the agitation. Farmers put up a banner on its engine saying 'Jai Jawan, Jai Vijnan'. They also kept photos of four farmers killed in Lakhimpur.

Kisan Mazdoor Sangharsh Committee (KMSC) general secretary Saravat Singh Mander on Monday demanded the arrest of Union Minister Ajay Mishra, saying such demonstrations would continue at 50 places in 11 districts of Punjab till it happened.
