Police suspect the angle of Islamic terror in the murder of a British MP

London, Ta. 13
Scotland Yard has launched an investigation into the angle of the Islamic terrorist attack in the murder of Conservative MP David Ames in broad daylight at Leg-on-Sea in Essex. Scotland Yard's Counter Terrorism Command is investigating the case.
A 7-year-old British man arrested on suspicion of murdering David Ames in Essex, south-east England, is believed to be of Somali origin. Prime Minister Boris Johnson and opposition Labor leader Sir Kerr Starmer paid tribute to David Ames at the Belfares Methodist Church at Leg-on-Sea, the site of the attack, on Saturday morning.
Deputy Commissioner Dean Head, senior national co-ordinator of counter-terrorism policing, has officially declared the act a terrorist act, the Metropolitan Police said. Preliminary investigations suggest the killing of David Ames may have been linked to Islamic fundamentalism. Police conducted a search of two locations in London as part of an investigation into the incident.
A 6-year-old man arrested at the scene is currently at a police station in Essex. He is believed to have committed the murder alone. No one else is currently involved in the killings. However, the incident is under investigation. Police have requested eyewitnesses to come forward. UK Home Minister Preeti Patel reviewed the security arrangements for MPs. "We are all shocked by the way David Ames was assassinated," he said, paying tribute to Essex MP Ames.
