Petrol is at a historic level not only in India but also in the UK

New Delhi: Petrol prices in the UK have reached a historic high after rising by 30 pence this year. While diesel prices are below previous record levels, new figures show.

On Sunday, petrol prices in the UK reached 142.94 pence per liter, or about 3 143. With this, it surpassed the previous high of 142.47 pence per liter recorded in April 2012. While the price of diesel reached 146.5 pence per liter, it is now just off the surface of 147.93 pence per liter.

The main reason for the rise in petrol prices is the rise in crude oil prices. Crude oil prices were ડો 40 a barrel a year ago and today they have risen above 82 82 a barrel. Not only this, the price of petrol has also gone up due to the new E-10 category of petrol. In addition, the fact that retailers are currently charging higher margins per liter than before the epidemic has also played a significant role in the rise in petrol prices.

Petrol prices rose sharply in May 2020 after hitting a low of 106.48 pence per liter. Gasoline prices fell to 114 pence in November 2020 from 135 pence per liter in August.

This price increase can be compared to the growth after the financial crisis of 2008-09. At that time, the price of petrol had gone up from 86 pence per liter in January 2009 to 121.5 pence in May 2010. However, between 2009 and 2011, the duty on petrol increased from 52.35 pence per liter to 58.95 pence.
