New big wave won't come but it is too early to say that corona is over in the country ઃ Scientists

Until a new variant arrives, the country will not have a wave of deadly new corona like the second wave, but it would be premature to say that the corona is extinct in the country, experts and scientists said.

Shahid Jamil, a visiting professor and virologist at Ashoka University in Haryana, said vaccination rates have improved but much remains to be done. It would be premature to say that the country is running out of corona.

In the last three hours, 12.5 new cases of corona have been reported in India. At the same time, the total number of corona cases in the country has increased to 2,31,8,6. The national recovery rate has gone up to 6.15%. This is the highest since March 2020, according to figures released by the Union Ministry of Health.

However, the death toll from the corona has risen to 4,5,08 so far, with 31 more people dying from the corona in the last three hours. The number of active cases has come down to 1,3,8. This is the lowest number of cases in the last 3 days.

The daily positive rate has been 1.16 per cent. The daily positive rate has been below 3% for the last 3 days. While the weekly positive rate has been 1.31 percent. Which has been below three per cent for 115 days. So far, the total number of doses of the vaccine has crossed 100.5 crore. In the last 3 hours, 12,3,8 tests of Corona were done. At the same time, the total number of corona tests in the country has increased to 2,50,8,31.

Of the 21 deaths in the last four hours, 119 have occurred in Kerala and five in Maharashtra. The death toll in Maharashtra was 1,5,6, in Karnataka 4,8, in Tamil Nadu 4,6, in Kerala 4,503, in Delhi 4,060, in Uttar Pradesh 4,6 and in West Bengal 12,091.

Meanwhile, the central government has said that so far 103.50 crore doses of vaccine have been given to states and union territories. Of these, the states have 114 million doses left unused by the government.
