Nepal: Heavy rains wreak havoc, floods kill 88 so far, affecting 20 districts

Heavy rains and flash floods have killed at least 11 people in various parts of Nepal. The death toll rose to 88 on Thursday. The Disaster Management Department says 30 people are missing so far. The highest death toll was 27 in Nepal's Panchthar district, while Ilam and Ilam and Doti districts had 13-13 deaths.

Apart from that, there are reports of deaths from 15 districts including Kalikot, Baitadi, Dadeldhura, Bajang, Hamla, Solukhumbu, Pyuthan, Dhankuta, Morang, Sunsari and Udaipur. At least 63 people were killed on Wednesday and 14 on Tuesday, health ministry officials said. The disaster in Nepal has affected 20 districts. 21 people are missing in Bazad district.

However, the weather conditions have improved since Thursday. Meanwhile, Home Minister Balakrishna Khand has directed the Nepal Police, the Armed Police Force, the National Investigation Department and the Nepal Army to evacuate tourists trapped in the attack district. They have been stranded in the Limi area due to heavy snowfall.
