Lakhimpur violence: Finally, Ashish Mishra was arrested after 12 hours of interrogation

Ashish Mishra, son of Union Minister Ajay Mishra and accused in the Lakhimpur Khiri violence case, was arrested on Saturday. Ashish Mishra appeared before the SIT at 11.00 am. Ashish Mishra was interrogated before a magistrate at the Lakhimpur Crime Branch office for more than 12 hours, but was arrested on charges of not cooperating in the investigation and not answering some questions.

Ashish Mishra's lawyer, DIG Upendra Agarwal, Lakhimpur's SDM were also present during the interrogation at the Lakhimpur Crime Branch office. Ashish Mishra released some videos in his favor. He also submitted affidavits of 10 people stating that Ashish Mishra was not with the convoy but in the battlefield. However, Ashish could not give an answer as to where he was between 2.3 pm and 2.30 pm on October 2.

Meanwhile, farmers' organizations said they would march to Lakhimpur on Tuesday to protest the Lakhimpur violence and on the 19th, farmers would take out Kalash Yatra in all districts of Uttar Pradesh. On the 18th, there will be a 'Stop Rail' movement. He also plans to hold a mahapanchayat in Lucknow on October 9. Farmers' organizations have demanded the removal of Union Minister Ajay Mishra and the arrest of Ashish Mishra.

On the other hand, regarding the killing of two BJP workers in Lakhimpur, farmer leader Rakesh Tikait on Saturday said that the killing of BJP workers in response to the death of farmers was a reaction to an action. We don’t think it’s wrong. We do not even blame the people involved in this murder. Tikait made the shocking remarks at a time when farmers were staging a series of programs for peaceful protest against the Lakhimpur Khiri incident. Farmers' organizations have demanded the arrest of Ashish Mishra and the removal of his father Ajay Mishra from the ministry.

Meanwhile, sources said that the timing of the video released by Ashish Mishra during his interrogation at the Lakhimpur Crime Branch could not be confirmed. According to the video, he was working as a referee at the time of the incident. The timing of this video will now be verified.
