It has been 9 years since the establishment of the Indian Air Force, known for its prowess and heroism, on October 6, 19, by the British government to help the Royal British Air Force. Surprisingly, when the first squadron of the Indian Air Force was formed on April 1, 19, there were only five pilots in four aircraft. The five pilots included Harishchandra Sarkar, Subroto Mukherjee, Bhupendrasinh, Azad Baksh and Amarjit Singh. However, Subroto Mukherjee later became the first Chief of the Air Staff of the Indian Air Force. While Karan Krishna Majumdar became the first Indian officer to fly a fighter jet during World War II.

The Indian Air Force first attacked a Japanese military base in Arakan during World War II to stem Japan's growing dominance in Burma. The Indian Air Force also increased its pressure on Japan by attacking Japanese airports in northern Thailand. The British also linked the Indian Air Force with the British Royal Air Force in European military operations. Initially, the Indian Air Force also handled ground duty and supply related work. During World War II, the British removed the red flag of the Indian Air Force, which was similar to the rising sun of Japan.

In 18th, King George V of England praised the performance of the Air Force and gave the title of Royal. France's Mirage-2000 new Rafale aircraft, Russia's MiG and Sukhoi aircraft are the main strengths of the Indian Air Force. Jaguar, MiG-2, MiG-21 and Tejas are also capable of meeting any challenge. The Indian Air Force is one of the most powerful armies in the world. History has shown that war has played a crucial role in turning the tide. India has more than 1000 fighter jets with different capabilities and specifications.

After the partition of India and Pakistan on the 19th, Pakistan formed a separate Royal Pakistan Air Force. After independence, the Air Force played a key role in the Indo-China War in 181, the Indo-Pakistani War in 18 and 191. Apart from this, whether it is Operation Meghdoot to capture the 19th Sia Chin Glacier or the 19th Kargil War Air Force personnel have protected the country even in adverse circumstances.
